Design Elements

Australian Government Design

There are 2 versions of the Australian Government Design. Both consist of 2 elements: the Commonwealth Coat of Arms (Conventional Version 3A Solid) and the words 'Australian Government' - text is set in Times New Roman Bold.

The Inline version of the Design presents the two elements 'Inline', in a horizontal arrangement, with the Coat of Arms to the left of text. The 'Stacked' version is centred vertically, with the Coat of Arms sitting above the centralised text.

The Australian Government Design is for use in circumstances where the Australian Government is required to be identified as a whole.

Agency Design

The Agency Design is for use in circumstances where that entity is required to be identified as a whole.

The two versions of the Design for agency use consist of four elements: the Commonwealth Coat of Arms (Conventional Version 3A Solid), the words 'Australian Government', an underline, and the department or agency name - text is set in Times New Roman Bold.

These four elements are combined in two available configurations - inline and stacked.

The inline version of the Design presents the four elements in a horizontal arrangement (inline). The stacked version presents the elements centred vertically (stacked).

Identifying multiple agencies

In circumstances where a number of departments and/or agencies are to be identified, for example a collaborative site or joint sponsorship site, the department or agency names are to be presented in rows underneathe each other, with all text set to Times New Roman Bold, each divided by an underline.

Alternatively, the Australian Government could be identified as a whole, using the Australian Government Design.

Identifying divisions and branches

Divisions, branches, offices and units within departments may identify themselves in the common branding using either the inline or stacked version, depending on the preference of the relevant Portfolio Secretary. Department or agency names should be Times New Roman Bold, with the division or branch name directly underneath, with no underline, without bold.

Program branding

Program branding which includes a specific logo (eg Immunise Australia) may be used in conjunction with either Agency Design, or the 'An Australian Government Initiative' Design. The design looks like the Australian Government design, but reads: An Australian Government Initiative.
